Review: A ring of truth by Michelle Cox

Release date: April 4, 2017
Pre-order here: Amazon

SYNOPSIS:
In this second book of the series, Henrietta and Clive delightfully rewrite Pride and Prejudice―with a hint of mystery!

Newly engaged, Clive and Henrietta now begin the difficult task of meeting each other’s family. “Difficult” because Clive has neglected to tell Henrietta that he is in fact the heir to the Howard estate and fortune, and Henrietta has just discovered that her mother has been hiding secrets about her past as well. When Clive brings Henrietta to the family estate to meet his parents, they are less than enthused about his impoverished intended. Left alone in this extravagant new world when Clive returns to the city, Henrietta finds herself more at home with the servants than his family, much to the disapproval of Mrs. Howard―and soon gets caught up in the disappearance of an elderly servant’s ring, not realizing that in doing so she has become part of a bigger, darker plot.

As Clive and Henrietta attempt to discover the truth in the two very different worlds unraveling around them, they both begin to wonder: Are they meant for each other after all?

MY THOUGHTS:
First off, I'm going to stop y'all and refer you to my review of the first book in this series. A GIRL LIKE YOU. I'm so happy to see that I was right about this becoming a series.

I liked this book. It picked right up where the first book ended. This time we have Henrietta finding out somethings about Clive and her Mother. We also see Henrietta trying to fit in with Clives circle of friends, and making friends of her own. I would have liked a little more mystery solving in this book, it seemed to lack the mystery that the first book had. Other than that, I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to read the third book.

About HARD JUSTICE:

Playing it safe has never felt so dangerous…

Justice Wallington knows how to harness his strength and intimidating size—skills he put to good use first in the MMA cage, and now as a bodyguard at the Body Armor agency. But no opponent has ever left him feeling as off balance as his new client, heiress Fallon Wade. Far from a spoiled princess, she’s sweet and intriguingly innocent. It’s a risk-free assignment, until he’s required to fake a relationship with her in order to blend in.

Sheltered from the world after a family tragedy, Fallon longs to experience life—going to bars, dancing, talking to strangers. Not easy with a huge, lethal-looking bodyguard shadowing her every move. Justice seems like her polar opposite, but pretending to be a couple stirs undeniable heat. And when danger strikes again, it’s not just her safety in jeopardy, but a passion that’s real, raw and absolutely against the rules…

My Thoughts:
I flipping love Lori Foster! I read a Trace of fever about once a year (I'm currently reading it again for the 6th time). NO ONE does romance better than her.
Her alpha-males are one of a kind and the heroines are always perfectly imperfect. Justice, to me,came across as a big softie when he was with Fallon. He fell hard and he fell fast. I also adored his personality. He's one of my top 5 favs of characters from Lori Foster's books. Fallon was so sheltered and just sweet. Justice and her made such an amazing couple. I'm really loving the "who did it" factor in these books. This is a great book and I can't wait to see what character is up next!

Find out what happens next in LEGALLY CHARMING, first in Lauren Smith’s newest #contemporaryromance #newadultromance series, Ever After!

My Thoughts:
I've been a fan of Lauren Smith since I read her first book. She always has the best male lead characters of any author. I loved Jared and Felicity, there was so much chemistry from the moment he found her in his bed. Felicity was a little naive, but what I really loved was that Jared never took advantage of that. He loved her innocence and that made me love him even more.
There were a few plot twists that I did not see coming, but that just made the book even better. Lauren Smith is one of those authors who can transport you into the book and make you feel like you're living the story-line along with the characters. I can not wait for the next book from her.

WHEN MIDNIGHT STRIKES AND COACHES TURN TO PUMPKINS…

Underneath the glitter of this fairy tale romance, Felicity and Jared might have found true love. But the mounting pressure of their real lives takes hold again and Jared and Felicity are pulled further and further apart. Can they find their fairy tale ending or will they be left with the dying embers of what could have been?

Review: Whisper of Love by Melissa Foster

For the first time in years, Nash wants to let a woman into his world,
but while his loss made him stronger, that strength came at a price.

WHISPER OF LOVE
The Bradens - Peaceful Harbor, MD #5
Melissa Foster
Releasing Feb 22, 2017
World Literary Press

Tempest Braden adores her family and her small hometown, but sometimes too much of a good thing can be confining. At almost thirty, having watched most of her siblings find true love, she’s anxious to experience her own happily ever after, and the move to Pleasant Hill, Maryland, is just the change she needs. When she rents a room from ruggedly handsome, and closed-off, artist Nash Morgan and his adorable son, Phillip, she thinks she’s found a little slice of heaven on the outskirts of town, where she can concentrate on building her business. That is, if she can ignore the undeniable heat between her and the sinfully hot single father.

When Nash bought his farmette, he had one goal in mind—to provide a loving, stable home for his son. He never imagined he’d be raising Phillip alone, or renting out a room to keep their heads above water. Then again, he never imagined losing his brother, or spending two years sailing around the world with parents who seemed to forget one son was still alive.

Sparks fly from the moment Tempest moves in, and her positive energy and inquisitive nature brings new life into Nash and Phillip’s quiet, confined world. For the first time in years, Nash wants to let a woman into his world, but while his loss made him stronger, that strength came at a price, leaving him walled off and wary of opening his heart again.

My Thoughts:
I've read so many of Melissa's books that I couldn't even tell you how many. She has such a way of making each story fresh and new. This book was another great one!

I feel like I'm constantly saying this, but these characters are people I would be friends with *if they were real. Sigh* Tempest is such a positive person that she exudes happiness. She probably has one of the purest hearts of any character I've read in a while. Nash is a tortured soul, and I have a weak spot for tortured souls. He's the kind of character that you just want to hug, and the Father\Son moments made my heart happy. This book is happiness and warm fuzzies and should be enjoyed on the couch with a blanket. I can't wait to read the next book from Melissa Foster. It's always an adventure.
